Hi,

I am internationally trained nurse from India. I applied for registration as RN in college of nurses of Ontario Oct 2011. They took over a year and finally determined that my education/ experience is not equivalent to those of current graduates of Canadian nursing program. They have asked me to write Observational Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and pass in order to show equivalency. My question is that have anybody else been asked to take OSCE exam and what to expect? Also what does the college consider while evaluating education as other nurses from my college have been given eligibility without fulfilling any other criteria or exam!!

Can any one suggest the good education providers for OSCE exam. I know of George Brown & Alqonquin. Any other suggestions ?

There are private schools that offer OSCE prep courses, but it's buyer beware when comes to private schools. Schools that are not registered with the Ontario ministry of training, colleges and universities are not held accountable to Ontario law. Students have no recourse if they are misled about the instructors qualifications or the curriculum content. Unregistered schools do not have credit-granting authority and it's a red flag if they offer courses that are typically only available through community colleges or universities.

Hi Tabss, I have my date booked for Feb but planning to postpone it to either march or april... interested in group study?

Why not? I am in for April 7th exam. Any group study from 23rd march onwards I m into it

Yes...I will be in Mississauga for 2 weeks just for OSCE purpose.
