Pediatric NP or Pediatric CNS???

I am currently a RN with my bachelors degree. I work with pediatrics and I love it. I want to further advance my degree but I'm not too sure which path to take. I wanted to become a CNS, but it seems that hospitals are not really hiring for that anymore. Is my assumption true? Will it be hard for me to find a job as a CNS? I don't want to waste my time and money if I cannot find a job. I was told that CNL is taking over and that is why CNS do not reallt exist anymore. I wouldn't mind becoming a NP but I am not sure how I feel about being able to prescribe medications. I just need help deciding which path I should take. Thank you in advance!
