Hi all

I am recently from another state and am trying to apply my 23 years of nursing skills, experience and training to creating a niche for employment in my area (Ashe) as there are no open positions outside the hospital for nurses at this time.

I am finding that I am woefully uninformed :nono: as to certain policies and issues that the possession of which would increase my marketability and I'm hoping some of you nice folks can point me in the right direction :) I have tried to find this info on the web and the ncbon but all I've been able to do so far is determine that I need much more information to do successful research :( Can you help??:behindpc:

Some of my questions:

What are the titles, classifications and skill set/care boundaries for the various paraprofessional caregivers, in the home and in facilities (where I came from they were divided as: Homemakers, Home Health Aides and Certified Nurse Aides)

Is it true that some classification(s) of caregivers were not regulated and now must have state approved training and certification? If so what was their nomenclature previously, once trained and can you direct me to where I can find or obtain a copy of the training module(s)?

What level of caregivers in this state are permitted to pass meds; under what circumstances?

What is the required frequency of re-evaluation/care-planning of clients in home or long-term facilities?

What is the required frequency for supervisory visits (in the home) to evaluate caregivers performance and skills?

hmmm... that is a good start and would be very helpful in my search if someone could tell me where this information can be found :) If you think of something else that would be needful or helpful for which I have failed to ask please let me know!

Thanks tons! :bowingpur:nurse: for your help :thankya:
