Calling any Watts School of Nursing Students!!!

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hi all,

I have posted a few times about my worries on getting into a nursing program and just wanted to share that I got accepted to Watts School of Nursing in Durham. I am so excited and I was wondering if any Watts students (or from other programs) had any advice on how they have gone about financing their education. I never had to deal with financial aid when I got my undergrad a few years ago and Watts is pretty pricey, (about $30,000). I plan to do the tuition reimbursement program with Duke when I graduate but I'm worried about what to do right now. Any advice on financial aid or private loan experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!:heartbeat

I will only have to take Part 2 again, but I have to be one of those people sitting up in the front. I have to wait for the first part to be done. I answered about 80 of the 90 questions but passed over a lot of the math. Don't worry because what I wish I knew then is that they actually average the three components of part 1 together for your score. I got a 92 because of 99 in verbal, 80 something in spatial and 44 in math. I thought I blew it. Well i blew the second part. I got through two passages but I didn't answer enough correctly I think. I got a 44 :(. You will hear in two weeks if you passed...I hope you did great!

@prcouch, good luck on you the second part, I know you will pass it for sure..:)

or even ace it..:smokin:

Thank you Leophuong! It should seem an easy task but I have been out of school since 1987...

prcouch, you will make it..

Hi, Have you heard back from Watts yet? I just got my letter yesterday.

I only sent it last Friday. How long did it take for you to get a response? I am assuming you are in?

yes, I am in. I took exactly a month. I mailed my info on 1/7 and the letter is date 2/7. It took me a day to get it, so I got it on the 8th.

Congratulations! I have three more weeks to wait!

Well Peeps...I finally did it! Yay!!!! I passed the aptitude with a 95 and reading with a 76!!! So I am going to submit my application! Althought I have no idea how I will pay my living exspenses while in school, additionally, I don't know who the best references will be either..
