Hello nurses,

Can someone please provide feedback on South Oaks hospital in Long Island. What is the interview like, pay rates, staff? Having an interview there next week and any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi!

I know this post is old but I thought I would comment anyway.

I'm just wondering if you accepted the job offer from South Oaks. I interviewed there and accepted a position. I'm scheduled to start orientation on August 14th.

Can you give me any insight to the position. I'm a new nurse and I'm not quite sure what to expect.

Thank you.

Eileen

Hey,

I accepted the position. I started my orientation on June 19th and still currently on orientation for another 2 weeks. I am an over night adults unit nurse. I cannot give you too much info regarding the day or evening shift since I haven't done any of those. The work load is not too bad comparing to a medsurg position. They orient you to all the units through out the hospital so that in case you need to float you are prepared for anything. Any other qs feel free to ask.

Hello!

Thanks for your response. I should be starting on August 14th and I will be floating to all the units. It's good to know that orientation is for a few weeks. I was originally told that it was only for 2 weeks.

As far as the patient care goes, are you also addressing their med/surg issues or is it just mainly psych?

Thanks.
