Qualified to work as PCT while a 2nd semester nursing student??

I have some questions: I'm a nursing student and am currently in my 2nd semester of classes towards a BSN. Could I be hired as a PCT at the hospitals in NY, and would they provide additional training before I start? What would the pay be like? Would I be able to work a few hours a week or just per diem (I can only work part-time due to my classload). I really want relevant experience, but I'm afraid of screwing up when drawing blood, injecting meds, etc. since I'm a fairly new student. Is the job very challenging?
