Good Morning Nurses, how is everyone this stormy winter morning? It is certainly nasty out. I assume a lot of you are working today from last nights shift. Mandatory something or other. Anyway, I am in the market for a career change and nursing has always been in the Back of my mind. I was always scared away because whenever I looked at a book it intimidated me. Especially the thought of trying to do it part time...didn't seem doable. Anyway, now or never right, might as well go for it, then at least I can say I tried instead of talked about it. So here is my dilemma...I live in Long Island, NY. There are a few schools
out here. The ones I have looked at are Farmingdale, Stony Brook, Molloy, Adelphi and both Nassau and Suffolk C 's. I don't really know the ins and outs. I thinks it is better to go 4 years straight through for the BSN? Is that better than going two years and getting the RN? Should I get my LPN license and transfer? Also any recommendations on these schools? Any alum's have any thoughts or current students? Thanks in advance people.
