Carrington Vs TMCC

U.S.A. Nevada

When prospective students are given a choice between going to Carrington nursing program or TMCCs', majority will choose the later. The most common reason given by most students for not preferring Carrington to TMCC is the high cost. I am a TMCC nursing student and I can sincerely advise prospective students to consider going to Carrington. If you conduct cost-benefit analysis, one will realize that Carrington is not as expensive as it is thought to be. If one makes it to Carrington, he/she will save at least two years as compared to TMCC. In addition Carrington's program seems to give students exactly what they need to practice as nurses. Comparing the NCLEX pass rates, the two colleges seem to perform the same. At TMCC, there are many uncertainties. First, one is not sure if they will be accepted into the program after spending at least two years taking the prerequisites. Secondly, only 70% of TMCC nursing program students make it through despite most of them having received straight A's in their prerequisite courses. Thirdly TMCC can introduce any course at anytime even though the credits will not count towards the nursing degree. Finally, you may end up being in the TMCC program with some students who never finished their prerequisites. How it happens is not clear. Carrington is not an easy college but it is worth it.
