Acceptance into CSN RN Program

U.S.A. Nevada

Published

Hi everyone I am new to this forum. I have read some other posts about CSN RN Program but I would like to ask some questions to those of you who have been in the program or are currently in it.

1. Why is Biol 189 the scare of most students :banghead:. Any tips?

2. Do those who have a B-C grading scale usually get in.

3. Were you accepted when you first applied. If not how many tries did it take?

I am trying to think positive but and a bit worried since so students are trying to apply for the program. I don't want to seem like a failure if my studies were to be put on hold . Of course I am not genius but I am trying to work hard at my grades. Thanks for any responses.

i wish you success in becoming a RN. the CSN program is excellent and is worth the trouble to get in. they are tried and true for boards and i loved the classes.

i graduated from the RN program a few years ago. i did the LPN to RN bridge, it was fast paced and i loved it. i learned alot and passed boards the first time with 75 questions.

i had a a GPA above 3.4 and since i was a LPN i didn't need points or the NLN , i was accepted on my GPA alone. i got in first time applying, and i hear there was 10 LPN's that applied but didn't get in when i applied. there were 9 of us accepted and the 10 others that applied were not accepted.

i have heard horror stories about bio 189 but i lucked out on that and i think i had to take bio 190... or somehting like that. i think the 189 ( i hear ) is helpful for the RN program . it's worth the ulcers you get from it. although i'm sure someone else can tell you more about 189.

i would get as many points as i could to get in. it very competative and they are choosy about who they accept. i think when i applied 400 also applied and in total 128 were accepted. i don't know how it is now... just get as many points and as many A's and B's as you can...... good luck and never give up hope
