<Information about Touro Nevada>

U.S.A. Nevada

Published

hi everyone!

i got accepted to touro nevada today and wanted to know if any students/anyone knew any specifics about the program? i.e. class/clinical scheduling, academic work load, curriculum, and is as ridiculously as complicated/difficult as the faculty made it seem during my interview...i have said before that they made it seem way too tough or either really good, i am still not sure which one to go with! i am excited though and interested in any information, which anybody can pass on! i was told about this specific camp thing that they are doing right before the july start, what is that all about? i still have not been told too much info about it from the college.

well thanks for your insights!

Did anyone find out if there is a July start date?? Last I checked the next start date was November. Please let me know if there is one so I can apply asap! :)

Yes, Touro has a July start date. They admit three times a year: March, July and November on a rolling basis,

Hi empyreal,

I called Touro today and I asked admissions about the July BSN start date and they said they only admit twice a year, March and November.

:( I totaly got my hopes up too!!

Oh no, did they get rid of the July cohort? When I applied they had that option available. I'll check, too, just in case =P

Hi Again,

I just stopped by the office and it turns out they have changed the admission guidelines. They only admit twice a year now on the March and November dates and have due dates for applications rather than on a rolling basis.

November Start - June 30

March Start - November 30

Sorry, JackieJane!! I hadn't realized they changed the cohorts this year. But those are the application deadlines if you are still planning on applying. Good luck!

This is a VERY useful thread. Thanks everybody.

I am in the same boat as many of you, a 29 year old (in Boston) wanting to do an accelerated BSN program. Oh, and I desperately want to move to Las Vegas. :)

I am finishing up my pre-reqs (currently have A&P II, Microbio, and Lifespan/Dev Psych left to take) and checking out programs in LV.

I'm growing a bit hesitant of Nevada State College, as a possibility for their accelerated BSN, due to hearing random chatter about the future of the program.

Touro sounds like a more stable solution, however way, way pricier.

Anyway, I'll be following this thread closely, and thanks to all for providing great info!

Okay so I cannot find any information or get anyone to answer after 2 weeks. I have a C in Algebra. If I took the next step up which is Pre-cal. trig. would they take that, or would I have to retake Pre-Cal. Alg.? And anyone know about the withdrawal thing, if it counts as an attempt?

I think someone already answered and stated that withdrawals do count for CSN and UNLV. I looked for three minutes and found the information on their websites stating this. The links are included here for your information. I don't have a clue about NSC, Touro, or USN. You will have to contact them directly and ask them for the information you require.

Yup, NSC is not looking too good right now. A lot of people are a bit concerned about NSC. So, people are stuck with UNLV, it can still exist in the long run. UNLV's nursing program is not going anywhere (at least) for now. But, it's almost like Guantanamo Bay to try to get in there... the odds of getting shot, are higher than trying to penetrate UNLV's nursing camp (seriously).

As for CSN, if you mess up for any reason, they make you wait a year just so you can re-apply. The problem is, a lot of things can happen in a year. They have a good program though. Both UNLV (I hear) and CSN have good nursing programs. Touro I guess is the logical choice for some (YOU'LL JUST BE IN DEBT UP TO YOUR EYEBALLS!).
