Opinions on Kaplan...

U.S.A. Nebraska

Hello, I just recently registered at Kaplan University for the LPN program starting in August. Not my first choice institution, but I am really sick of school and cannot be put on a never-ending wait list at Bryan or SCC. I eventually want to continue on to get a BSN, having almost all my prereq's completed. Was this a stupid move? I am now hearing a number of bad things about Kaplan that is making me second guess myself. I know they are accredited but has anyone ever heard of any problems in transferring classes to other schools? On top of all of that, they are REALLY expensive too? 22k for an LPN degree? I feel like they are using the fact that they have no wait list as an excuse to jack up the price because of the convenience.

I know this is late but it will help other students looking for info on kaplan. I was in the CNA program at kaplan and they are VERY serious about helping you find a job. You have a interview with a career services advisor and tell them about where you want to work (location/environment, etc) and they are very dedicated to making sure you get employment and are satisfied with your employment. I graduated about a year ago and I still get emails and phone calls making sure I'm happy with my employment, and they send me job listings for places with higher pay, better benefits, etc.I'm going to attend the LVN program in march. I was very satisfied with my experience at kaplan, and that's why I'm returning. I know everyones experience is different. Hope this helps anyone looking for info!

I was interested in the BSS Nursing Program....can you tell me more info, including your experience? Thanks...
