Hi everyone, I've been checking this thread the past few days, so thanks for all your updates! I just checked my status and it says Interview. Should I be preparing for an interview?! Have they ever interviewed for this program before?

I don't think they have ever interviewed for this program, so that's why I'm confused!

Btw, there is no interview as the application was the "interview."

Mine also says interview... who did you call? earlier in the thread they were saying that they would send out packets? is that true?

I git kicked out of the library because it closed and had to jet but mine said the status open or what ever.I am thinking that everyone that got "interview" was accepted. Can I ask he GPA of those of you that had "interview" listed?

I also called after seeing the interview comment above, as my status was changed to interview. I was told I was offered a spot, which hopefully does not mean alternate because I know they do those. This thread built the anticipation, but also helped figuring out right away who was accepted. Thought I'd put in my two cents.

(this will be helpful for future applicants, as well)

1. 3.85

2. I think my essays really stood out (they were both high-quality and very unique - it's a gift, instructors/professors always assume I have an English degree).

3. I've had some unique experiences and good leadership skills (e.g., creating my own student organization).

4. I'm diverse (part Hispanic).

5. Also, my clinical instructor (who happens to be the toughest at my school) who gave me a reference *loved* me (previously saying I went above and beyond, using my care plans for future students, etc.) and so I'm sure the that part was strong as well.

I'm was worried because I didn't apply until the last day (Jan. 15) but I guess that didn't matter.

That was very helpful. Thank you very much.

1) I had a 3.89.

2) I had awesome essays. My sister is a grant writer and she totally helped me with them.

3) I am in the directive of two different clubs (Nursing Association and the Intercultural Association) but I never created one. Plus I have been hands on volunteering over a year at the VA. I also volunteered in Malawi for 3 months.

4) I have traveled to over 70 countries and lived on 4 continents but I am white

5) this is where the problem lies. I had a great reference and my professor loved my as well but English is not her first language (I go to nursing school in Puerto Rico) and I don't think it was written as well as it could have been written.

ANyway all my points there don't count because I don't have the "interview" next to mine. My essays really were awesome. Everyone says so but you never know what it is. I revised my resume at the last minute and I also applied on the 15th and the last copy I sent I spelled sucsessful wrong and I for got the word "to" in a sentence. I completely forgot to spell check that last copy.

Whatever, I could site here forever and try to figure out why not me. It could be one little tiny thing. Who knows.

And just MAYBE they didn't change all the people they accepted to interview.

I called. If it says "interview" then you're in and if "Application in review" then you're not. I wasn't accepted but I can make other summer plans now :) Congrats to everyone and I'm sure all of us had the potential, but there were only limited spots!
