If you were a nurse manager in an ICU...

What sorts of questions would you ask a potential candidate and what qualities are you looking for?

I am 1 1/2 years Neuroscience/Neurotrauma with some telemetry experience (all stroke patients are tele, but almost all are SR or AFIB with a few PVC's thrown in, so I wouldn;t say I am a telemetry nurse by any means. I know how to analyze some rhythms).

Member of the practice council

PRN recently as on-call clinical research nurse (on-call to ER to assess stroke patients as possible candidates for SAINT and chant TRIALS)

NIHSS certified

Human Participants Protection Education for Research Teams certified.

I am applying for either MICU or SICU at a level one trauma center with teaching and community care. Really want it, and I might be going up against people with better experience. How do I make myself stand out?

Thank you
