Washtenaw Community College

U.S.A. Michigan

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone in here was going to washtenaw community college for nursing? If you are can you give me any information like how long the waiting list is and any advice on the pre reqs. Thank you in advanced

I took all my pre-reqs there for U of M second career program. The waitlist is about 18-24 months, I think. What kind of advice you want about the pre-reqs?

wll like how hard are the pre reqs? I havent been in school for a while and am a little nervous about going back. Plus, I want to make sure I have a high GPA too. Any tips for taking the pre reqs would be helpful. Like should i do the full 12 credit hours or go part time and go from there. Should I take anamony and chem the same time etc. Which teachers are good and which are not. That sort of thing.

I was 46 when I started taking the pre-reqs, 20 some years out of college. My mind worked fine, even better than the first time around. The profs at WCC were as good or even better than any profs I had at U of M. The classes were tough, but that's because the material is tough, not because of the profs. I took A & P and Chem 105 the first summer, Chem wasn't too bad, A&P is a lot of memorization and really understanding of the systems. then I took 4 classes each in fall and winter terms, and ended with Pharmocolgy this past summer. Patho and Micro weren't too bad. Pharm was a TON of memorization. I ended up all that with a 3.95 GPA, so it was fine. As far as how much time to take with the pre-reqs, figure out when you want to apply and work backwards. I didn't have a job, so taking a full load wasn't a big deal for me.
