I still haven't received any info about the vaccinations, etc.

Anyone decided what BSN route they're taking? I looked into it but it seems pretty competitive/expensive. I'd like to take some fall classes for my BSN but am having a hard time deciding which program to go with.

I'm not sure either. I like that w/ MSU we can get a couple classes out of the way now, but $504 a credit hour- ouch! I'm not sure how many other schools have programs, but it seems like with most you have to have the ADN first. And I also haven't seen much about how competetive it is...

I know MCC has articulation agreements with a few other schools...I was hoping to get a few prereq's for the BSN done this fall.

This is what I found on MSU's school of nursing page...

"Approximately 60 students are admitted each fall and spring semester. The College receives 2-3 times the number of applications per seat. The average GPA for the cohort admitted for fall 2011 was 3.69."

Thank you for the Good Luck wishes!

I went over to get books today and I can tell you this...the books and other things we needed were a lot of money up front. Almost $1,500 for all the books (some used), the stethoscope, lab pack, 2 sets scrubs, patches, and lab coat. Also, the drug test, titers, vaccinations, and physical was about $350 total at Crittenton. I did need to start the Hep B series, had a TDap, had to get another MMR vaccination after titers, physical, and TB test. I still need to get and pay for 2 more Hep B shots. Also, the Ace Passport was $50 and my classes were almost $1600 (not a resident of Macomb). So, start up costs were roughly $3,500 for the first semester.... Yikes!! But, it will be well worth it in the end!! I'll let you all know how it goes.

Also, the Bookmark is a great place to get the books cheaper!!! And, it's right down the street from Center Campus at 19 mile and Garfield.

thank you jag10000,it helps to have idea of what the costs are. Hoepfully next semester will be a little less costly as you will have your immunizations done, and some supplies already bought. It is a big investment but like said should be well worth it. I still havent recieved my physical forms, but I dont start til Jan. I recieved the MSU info and am still considering it. I am wishing all of the August starts a wonderfulllllll first semester, and am rooting for you!!!!(PS any advice or even the occasional posts on how it is going would be awesome!) Also when does the August semester begin?
