I recently graduated nursing school this past summer and took my State Boards at the end of October. My resume was a simple resume, I've only work at one place for 14 years so that was the only job on my resume. I use to think that working at my previous employment for so long would hinder me. But as a matter of fact, when I had my interview the manager said that she commended me for being so dedicated to my previous job. In my opinion, I believe that the resume will get you the interview, but once you have the interview you have to sell yourself and be honest. I have NEVER in my life had an interview before, and was extremely nervous and was asking everyone what do I say. I even had a mock interview with a family member. When it came down to it I just answered the questions honestly and I was myself.

I am in an ADN program now, but will start the BSN program right away after that. I have some experience as an LPN and have a degree in an unrelated area. How is the market for new grad RNs in Michigan? Does the DMC hire new grads? I keep looking at their postings and they say 1 year experiencewow... thank you so much for sharing... i just passed my board to last october but i graduated outside state...
