MDS vs MMQ


Can someone explain the difference between an MDS nurse and an MMQ nurse? Thx.

MDS Nurse does LTC OBRA assessments and/or PPS Medicare MDS assessments (which pays Medicare reimbursement). MMQ nurse does submission of Medicaid reimbursement (for non-Case-Mix states[/u]) every six months and for admissions, conversions of pay source to Medicaid and change of status within the six month time frame for Medicaid residents.
