On the path to education....

by Unistic

I have a few questions. I'm a Security Forces Member in the U.S AirForce and im interested in becoming a NP if and whenever i get out. As of now i have two years remaining. But due to the training i was doing and the deployments and studying for staff i've done little to no serious studdying. But when i take my staff test next month i will have a little time free to focus on getting my Nursing degree.

All schools require prereqs prior to getting into the school. But one i move around alot and cant physically go to school and second i usually work from 4am till 7pm so only online schooling is an option. What i would like to do is in a few years getting into the Enlisted to Officer program offered by the AirForce. http://usmilitary.about.com/od/airforcetrng/a/necp.htm

It only lists a few neccarsy prereqs which i will start on as soon as possible. But there are no online nursing schools due to the fact you need hands on (clinicals). So i was looking around and i came across University Of Phoenix which offers indivual courses for nursing.. The courses i belive are on the undergrad and grad level as seen here http://www.phoenix.edu/online_and_ca...l_courses.aspx . In my mind i can take those online and if i choose too i can get out and get my associate in the near by two year school to obtain a RN license and i would almost have my masters O.O

But its like the reverse way of doing it but almost the only way for me. The military is easy just long and boring hours. So i wouldnt mind doing the nursing thing in the military as an officer while going to school to become a NP which is what i really want to be. But this is just a thought and i'm open to suggestions if you have any please let me know thanks!
