Nursing Students LPN-RN

Okay, I'm in the Fundamentals class (mentally drumming my fingers and hoping we get to the good stuff soon...). We start with theory, and I'm reading along and get to Martha Roger's theory of nursing...we are energy fields floating in the universe....

What the *#(@()Q@! is this?! I'm telling you guys, I want to be an RN, but if someone pulls out crystals and starts talking about aligning chakras, I'm outta here.

rexie,

i was looking on penn state's site for their lpn advancement program and i can not seem to find any info!!!! how many nursing classes did you have to take? were you allowed to test out of some clinicals??

advanced standing and credit by examination for lpns

a licensed practical nurse who is admitted to the penn state program as an associate degree in nursing candidate is eligible to earn credit by portfolio for up to 8 credit hours of nursing course work for nurs 111 and nurs 112 and eligible to earn credit by examination for up to 8 credit hours of nursing course work for nurs 113 and nurs 114.

hope this helps. i didn't have to do 111 or 112, and tested out of 113 and 114.....including clinicals. that meant i only had to do 2 semesters of nursing classes. 217 days to go!!

good luck!
