Lamar State College LVN to RN - Page 2
Register Today!- May 9, '11 by katana600Thanks for the info. I applied to three schools in my area. Two of them I didn't get in and the other I got alternate. Most of my college hours are online, so I have no problems with assisgnments and my job is encouraging the online program because they don't have to work around school hours. I willadmitt a little scared because I don't know to expect. Looks like I might start in June if not then, it will be September, GOOD Luck to you

I started on April 4th and I am on my second nursing class right now (classes are 5 weeks with 1 week off in between).
It is a very time-consuming program if you also have to work full time while doing it. I work a rotating schedule (7 12-hour shifts in 14 days) and this was the only program, where I was able to do all my work online and still keep my full time job.
The hospital I work at has an "academic partnership" with Lamar State so I will be able to do my clinicals at my hospital with a preceptor or I might have to go to our "mother" hospital. - Jun 3, '11 by arlel58Congratulations to you sonja 77 for gettin in the program. I am so glad that there is you who is ahead of the program. From now and then I might be needing your input about the module that you had just finished which I guess is the computers ITC 1371 INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS RIGHT? So I guess you are now in Pathophysiollogy Module RNSG 1511 right? How did you handle it? I am sure you are smart enough to get into the program. I am glad t for you. Good luck to your next module. Keep in touch and best regards. I am going to give you my email if you don't mind don't hesitate to send me some insight for anything with regards to the modules.AManio1958@gmail.com..Take Care....
- Jun 7, '11 by evethaltI graduated from Lamar State College-PA May 20, 2011.
It is very fast paced! I am more than positive that 99% of my class worked full time while in school. I have tried Excelsior- that did not work out for me. With Lamar, you are on your own but you do need to put in the effort. There are discussions, deadlines, assignments, and exams. You will always have an academic coach that you can reach out. Mine were GREAT!!! The program is affordable (which was #1 on my want list).
If anyone is looking to start class soon email me sanchezyf@lamarpa.edu I can help answer any questions.
Good luck to allsexylala27 likes this. -
- Jun 24, '11 by sonja77Quote from arlel58I finished Pathophysiology last week and will start Intro to Professional Nursing and the Virtual Clinical next week. It looks like they restructured the program for the class starting in September. I did not take Intro to Computers during the nursing program. I did take Microcomputers as part of my prereqs. When I started the program was/is only 13 months and the one in September will be 15 months. It looks like they just moved the computer class from the prereqs into the nursing program.Congratulations to you sonja 77 for gettin in the program. So far the classes are doable, not too difficult, just very time-consuming.latrussell likes this. - Jun 26, '11 by RuralGirlQuote from sonja77Do you have to be a Texas resident?
