Hello everyone. I was a member here a very long time ago, but forgot my sign in credentials...

I am an LPN starting the transition program May 31 (hopefully)... and will graduate next May :)

It all rests on.... the TEAS V test... which I took yesterday. Wow... that was tough... and it ticks me off. I've been a nurse for 12 years, but I have been in healthcare for 18 years. I graduated High School 18 years ago. Never took Chemistry or Biology (didn't need them). Then, when I was accepted to school, I could bypass the basics because I scored so well on my ACT and entrance exams, so, I've still not had basic bio or chemistry, but have had advanced science courses.

When I went to LPN school, I was IMMEDIATELY accepted, even though they had a 6 month waiting list, because I scored higher on the NET than the school had ever had before... I am a 4.0 student... so, I am not dumb (not saying anyone is - please don't read it that way), and far from remedial, but that TEAS test killed me. It is not friendly to people who have been out of school for as long as me. Had I just graduated HS with all the basic sciences, I would not be sitting here worried if I scored well enough to make it. And, my school only requires a 65!

I "feel" like I failed it... That is not a good feeling... and very scary considering I have planned and rearranged my life planning on school for the next year. I already hired 2 nurses to take my place, and will only be there in a management position. The school has blocked our scores  until Friday or Monday, because they are in the middle of graduation. I don't understand why or how they are allowed to block us from seeing our scores when we paid for the test - but it is making my anxiety level through the roof.

On the first pretest, I scored a 70 - that was before reviewing anything. After reviewing, I scored an 80... but the actual test was much more difficult than the pretests they give you in the actual ATI Teas V book.

The idea of having to wait an entire year before doing this again is frustrating... especially when I've already made all these plans.

Well, just wanted to introduce myself... I am going to go look around some. Good luck to everyone. I am praying fervently for (just) a 65... For the first time in my life, a "D" will be acceptable, LOL!

I'll update ASAP (hopefully with the best outcome possible).

UPDATE!

I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I got an 83.3%. Ranked in the top 95% nationally. The mean score for this round was only 63.3%... wow... this is one heck of a test! The program I am applying for requires at least a 65, that is all I wanted... So, I am pretty certain I will be a NURSING STUDENT (again) come May 31rst. I am so excited :)

Good luck to everyone, and trust me - if you feel you failed, it definitely doesn't mean you did. I was sure I did.

Funny thing, I was most concerned with the science portion. In all my practice, I scored 80's and 90's on reading and math (my highest scores every time)... and 60s to 70s in science. On the test, I was so concerned with science, I could not focus well on reading and math - that those were my LOWEST scores. If I wouldn't have been so dern nervous, I could have scored even better. Ah well - I am completely happy!

I should learn the end of next week if I've made it into the program.
