Stanbridge college in Costa Mesa, CA. PLEASE HELP!

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Hi!

So I've recently decided on attending Stanbridge College for their LVN program.

I looked at a few others, including Pacific, but decided on Stanbridge (for now).

I like that their curriculum is RN based, rather than LVN based, and for the part time program after a month, they assist you in finding a home-health job. Experience means a lot as a new grad so this was something that really helped my decision.

I know they are a newer school, but that doesn't necessarily scare me off. I'm a good student so I feel I can handle whatever admin problems they may have.

I just really really would LOVE any input from anyone who has attended Stanbridge or is attending Stanbridge and tell me about your experience and if you would suggest it?

I've come by some scary reviews (as with most schools) and I just want more input from people who've been or are there to help my decision.

Thank you!!!:redbeathe

if you're a strong gal and can handle an admin problem here and there- then you are at the right place. because despite the admin problems (which i believe all schools can have) the teachers are great and the people that make it through the program are the strong ones who self sufficient to a degree and go-getters. if you are that type YOU WILL BE FINE. :)

I am extremely motivated so I think I can handle it...but can i ask you for an example of their admin problems??

Or your advice on this......

they told me I owe $400 the first day of intro class, which confused me because I have EVERYTHING covered by either grants or loans....nothing is out of pocket, so it's not like I have a balance owed.

They said it was to cover the books and materials given to us that week until they receive our funds from the lenders/gov., which she said could take 30 days.

She then said that because I don't owe anything out of pocket and it is all covered by fin.aid that they will RETURN the $400 to me in a check once they receive the funds from my fin.aid.

I'm just weary of this....I emailed her and asked to put this in writing but they have yet to respond.

Did they do this to you??

Thank you!

Hi, sorry I just realized you answered this qs for me in another post! Thank you though!!

no problem! to be honest-admin problems are getting better...just hang onto important paperwork lol...

Hi I am thinking about going to this school also. Can anyone tell me about it, please!

only the strong survive here, esspecially with the new curriculumn- so if you are self sufficient and are a responsible student, you will be fine. i always recommend community college to whoever i can because of pricing, but if you MUST go to a trade- you might as well do it right, so go here. admin issues? yes sometimes. strict to the point of nonsense? yes sometimes (less so, if you go part time, more so if you go full time). will you pass the boards if you make it through the school? yes. and thats important. they dont let you out of the program unless you KNOW YOUR STUFF- and in the end thats what it comes down to- and what matters..

good luck =) :nurse:
