Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

The reason I ask is cause I went to school and graduated CMA school and start LPN school with concord in Oregon next year. Any previous CMAs in school for LPN or graduated LPN?

Yes, me. I've been a CMA for three years and graduated from LPN school October 1st.

I am a CMA for 4 years and just passed my state boards for LPN last week.

Was the LPN program just like CMA or a bit more advanced?

Would you consider CMA school the same as LPN?

LPN school is more advanced and I found the level of work more difficult. The amount of studying was much more in depth for me compared to MA school. I am in CT, both programs were a year, however with LPN school we did clincal rotations throughout the program. I found there to be some similarities at times as far as my experience as a CMA, but we went more in depth in nursing school. If it's something you really want you can do it. Good luck!!!!

I was a phlebotomist/ekg tech before doing LPN schooling. It helps to have a background in medicine as well as clinical experience, most of the people in my class are already CNA (certified nurse assistants) and it helps them some with the material. Good luck!
