Hondros???

Hi! This is my first post and it's really exciting!!:) I'm a second career person and quit my job to pursue nursing because it is something I have always wanted to do. It's really difficult choosing a school but I don't have time to be put on a waiting list for 2-3 years for schools like Raymond Walters or Cincinnati State (although they are accredited by all the right people). To get into "The Great Oaks" program you need to be a certified nurses aid so the only places that I've been looking at are private schools like Hondros, Galen and Brown Mackie. Given the fact that these school have no wait lists their tuition costs average over 200 dollars a credit hour.

I've been seriously considering Hondros but I was wondering if anyone in the Cincinnati area is attending there or considering on attending there and what their experiences have been or if they recommend it. Considering the costs of these private schools, I'm hoping the money is worth it. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!

Hello M&M24, Did you join Hondros? If yes, how do you feel about the classes and faculty? Have your clinicals started yet? do you get it through the school and do you get it at good facilities? How are your feeling about Hondros overall? Please reply as I am in the same situation as you have mentioned above. Your reply will be very useful for me. Thank you

I just read about you thinking of attending HONDROS :crying2:....If you haven't already started DON'T!!! Seriously, they are not organized at all, rules, teaching, and correct answers all change day to day it is absolutely insane. I am still recovering from 2 wasted terms there. I am in the process of enrolling at Cincinnati State, they are much more established and less expensive. I know at least 25 out of the 60 people from term one failed the first term, and those that repeated it.... well let me tell you only 7 out of the 18 that actually came back passed. Everyone tried to talk me out of going there but I didn't listen :nono: if it sounds to good to be true it usually is. No waiting list, no STNA needed, there must be a reason. They will just take your money, play favorites, help some students cheat and act like your the the crazy one when they do it all in your face. Please do not go there!:bowingpur

Wow chinadoll74, you must have done really bad in school. Most people who do poorly usually have something bad to say about a school because they are angry. You sound pretty angry.

Wow starstruck85, are you speaking from experience? No not angry, just stating the facts. You shouldn't make accusations unless you know what your talking about. So do you attend Hondros, or did you? Seriously, is it normal for a professor to tell you 2+2=4 and the next day say, "oh I'm sorry, 2+2=5"? Half the class proves him wrong and he still doesn't admit it....hmmm. Guess I'm just angry....lol. You have a lot to learn. It's clear you do not have a degree in psychology. But hey, you keep reaching for those stars.
