Does interview mean I'm pretty much IN?

i have an interview for rochester general hospital isabella g. hart school of practical nursing next friday. three months ago i took the entrance exam and figured that i would have to take it again next year and this year was a bust. but i got a call a few days ago and the administrative assistant told me that the director said that, although certain parts of the exam i scored "average," she wanted to schedule an interview with me. :w00t:

i was shocked because i thought that only ones with high marks on the exam would be considered. i am going to college now and have excellent grades. i think that helped me, along with other aspects of my application (reference letters from work, my essay). the session begins in august.

i know that the interviews vary from basic to more in-depth depending on the type of program (this is lpn program).

my question is, would you assume (in this case) that because i have an interview i'm pretty much in?

thanks!

Hard to say! I'm sure they base some aspect of accepting you on the interview. Congrats though, and good luck!

I had the same question! I passed the test back in November..hadnt heard anything from the school and so i was a little nervous. We did our financial aide and i returned it and everything. Finally, April 26th, i have a interview and im nervous. I have been waiting for awhile for this chance and i'm afraid that i will mess up on the interview and not get excepted :(

i'm nervous too! :chair: but i have been researching what the average nursing school interview questions are and made a list and answered them. i'm going to print out the list with my answers and study them so i am ready for any question---without sounding too reheorificed :specs:. i wish, though, that i could hear from someone who already had an interview at this school. oh well--just a longer list to study.

let me know how your interview went! good luck--mines a few days after yours on friday!

I think the interview is a really good sign that you will be accepted...but honestly, I wouldn't start celebrating my acceptance until I got an official accpetance letter, because you never know what could happen.

Good luck!

update. i had my interview and asked if everyone gets an interview. the reply was that you must meet certain criteria in order to get an interview. 200 applied and 80 will get in. i did not ask how many got an interview..lol. now i'm just waiting---should be within 2 weeks:heartbeat. i'm still finishing up my other degree program for medical billing and coding online so i will be occupied while i wait. the lpn program begins in august after my online semester ends in july :uhoh3:. i'm thinking that if i atleast am put on a waiting list there will be students that turn down their spot because they might have applied to a few schools and got accepted somewhere else. then i could get bumped up to acceptance. but maybe i will get accepted initially...:bowingpur
