LVN to RN Bridge in San Francisco?

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Hi. I'm new to this website. I'm from San Francisco, CA. I'm currently in San Francisco State University, but their RN program is IMPOSSIBLE to get into (so are other schools such as Dominican University, USF, CSUEB). You're either on the waitlist for 1.5 to 2 years or just waiting. So I decided to take LVN and work my way up to an RN and probably get my BSN.

I just came back from speaking to the admissions representatives of NCP Vocational School at South SF. I was just wondering:

  • How does the process of the LVN to RN bridge work? I heard about the 30 unit option and I don't want to do that.
  • What schools in San Francisco or around the Bay Area has the LVN to RN bridge program that will accredit prerequsites (Micro, Anatomy, Physiology) that I already took prior to entering the RN program?
  • What are the prerequisites after you have your LVN license to apply for the RN bridge?
  • Basically, can anyone reply or PM me the step by step process of the LVN to RN bridge?

I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Especially to people who are in the same situation as me. We're not getting younger... and the pressure is on..

HELP!
