LVN and BAAS question

Nurses LPN/LVN

I've been an LVN for over a decade and returned to school to complete my bachelor's degree. I decided to go with the BAAS (Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences) because it takes into account my previous work experience as a replacement for actual college level courses. I have taken over 72 hours of actual course work, all basics, and am currently considered a junior. By switching to the BAAS though, I will be re-classified as a senior and graduate in Dec '06.

Have any of you graduated with this degree? What did you do with it? My concern is finding a job that will pay me for my educational level as well as my experience. In other words, do any of you have any job suggestions? I'm stressing because my entire plan has changed and I want to be sure I have a job market out there that will hire me. :uhoh3:

My advisor says the degree is a multi-skilled degree that is universal instead of topic specific. He also says that most employers hire based on the status of "degree" rather than specific subject. They want a 4-year degreed person and not necessarily a business degree, etc.

I'm considering upper level management in LTC or assisted living or maybe even human resources in a healthcare facility. I just don't know. I don't want to make a mistake because I am pretty much at my crossroads and this is my chance. Hope that makes sense. I need to graduate so I can get back to work and not have the entire financial burden resting on my husband's shoulders.

Any suggestions? Has anyone graduated with this degree? If so, what did you do with it?

Hope to hear from someone....

Thanks ;)
