Regarding books: I highly recommend half.com

Often you end up buying an edition older than the required book, but that rarely makes a difference. I did this for my RN to BSN, and I rarely paid more than $20 per book, including shipping and handling.

Hello all I have received notification that I have been accepted into the 2013 Summer Hybrid ADN program I m desperately interested in purchasing courses related text or instructional material. I graduated from Pratt in 2013 and about halfway into my program I decided I would post some I info about this school once I was done. I remember looking into it and honestly they don't give you a ton of info, and this post was all I could find at the time.

First, my class was 40 and we graduated 26 I believe. You can finish this program, and you can become a RN from it. With that said, you teach yourself at least 80% of the material. It is not interactive, there are no web cam classes. I had taken at least 7 online classes prior to this program, and this was by far the worst formatting as far as the general layout goes. But, that part you get use to!

The transitions class is very simple. A few small assignments and that's it. I did need my book for this class. I honestly don't remember much about this class, but no one failed out from this class.

Each semester is is set up with different subject areas. 4 to be exact. We had issues with subject areas being ready when each semester started. Each subject you have assignments and a proctored test. You MUST pass 2 of the 4 tests with at least a 75 and maintain a 75 in the class. Both of these things have to happen to pass the semester. Let me add, that in my program most of us struggled to hit that 75 test mark. No one ever got above a 90 on a exam and the average test grade was the 75. The material is hard, it's all reading and each subject only lasts a week or two. The next thing that makes the 75 class benchmark hard is that there are hardly ways to get points except the test. Each subject area has two to there assignments or quizEs and they never add up to more than ten points. Your whole grade rides on the test.

As far as things you may need to know that they don't tell you till you are in the program is this.

You do not need a tablet! They had is get this for charting and shocker, hospitals don't want it in the facility! The sim chart is much easier to use from a laptop.

You go to campus at least 30 times for testing and clinical and all clinical are with in 1 hour of the Wichita area.
