Nursing in Ireland

Hello, I am new grad nurse and I am looking to move to Ireland. soon I will become registered nurse in and I wish to ask if there is someone who was in my same situation or some irish nurse. I am not EU citizen and I will need work permit. where can I seek for help , are there recruitment agencies willing to help ? Or should I find employer on my own

( that's really hard ) ? bye

Hi Sinedenise, I am in a similar boat. I just graduated with a Nursing Degree from Portugal, although I am not an EU Citizen. The agency said that I don't have a chance to apply to UK without a passport, so I am looking towards Ireland to see the possibilities.

Seems as though in general nursing is not as high demand right now.

Welcome :-/ . Yes, I have the same problem because i am not eu citizen, for example in other countryes like germany or austria they also seek for nurses maybe you should try, even if you are not from eu. But of course german is really hard to study :-(

Hi resilientnurse

What company allows you to work with American licence? Please let me know or pm me.

thanks

Gina

I have some news, I got a job in Ireland, maybe you should try to contact some irish nursing agencies like cpl.ie or kcr.ie and just tell them that you need work permit(green card).

Hi,

Which agency did you use? Did they apply for your work permit/green card? I am in the country and allowed to work if I find a job and get a job offer- the problem is getting a job offer without a work permit

hi, no , the agency helped me to find an employer who was willing to offer me the green card.(agencies can't offer green card) It's strange that you can not find anything there especially because you are IN ireland (are you registered with ABA)... I mean I am from Italy and I made an interview via skype.

Thanks, please tell me what agency so I can talk to them. My registration with ABA is almost completed. thanks.

ther's so many agencies, for example : cpl.ie ,Kate Cowhig International Healthcare Recruitment, ttm.ie ,goconnect.ie ,pcq recruitment, Head Hunt International, From Vitae Professionals, Three Q Recruitment......you have to explain that you need green card. that's all.. and send an email to all of them.. bye

I send email to everyone but nobody reply except PCQ.. I am waiting for adaptation date , that is taking so long time... Anyone working in Ireland, just wanted to know how long did you guys wait to get adaptation date??

How is nursing in Ireland ?

Hi Athina143

I don't know what to tell you about your last question. I didn't need any adaptation period so I can't help you. You should call ABA to hear. I am waiting visa decision so probably I will start working next month. And I'll be in position to answer about nursing in Ireland.

I only remember that , YOU have to find hospital where to do your adaptation period.

Take a look on this page ;DJEI - Important Notice for Non EEA Nurses on Clinical Adaptation Placements (I don't know if you need any work permit)

Does that means we will not get work permit? I need work permit to go Ireland . I got a job already but waiting for my adaptation date which is taking so long time.. I am really freakin out as I have left everything else for this job.. What is that new changes now???
