Rush north shore vs. Glenbrook Hospital?

I'm a new grads who recently interviewed both hospitals. They offered me a position but can't decide which one to choose. In terms of benefits and pay, I think they are pretty much the same. Any suggestion?

HANDS DOWN RUSH!!!!!!!! as an Ambulance driver going between both facilities, I often did hospital to hospital transfers for patients who didn't like the staff at Glenbrook. Plus although Glenbrook is very clean and large the staff is so snotty and demeaning. I once got yelled at by a Nurse while entering the ER with gloves on from a bleeding patient i was transporting and holding, she said i was not helping protect her from bloodborne pathogens (but what about me?) Anyway, Rush is awesome, and hard as h**l to get into too so take it while you can, and if you really want a mind blowing career try to get into Rush University MEdical Center in the IL med Dist. near downtown. (formally called Rush Presperterian (spl?)) You will be part of the most caring staff i have ever met in my life.

I hope to work in the RUSH ER one day

I don't want to influence your decision, but I would strongly encourage you to investigate the "parent companies" of these institutions.

One is highly reputable, IMO. The other not so much.

Thank you so much for your input, Emergency Medicine. I'm not very familiar with ER, but I got the picture.

But I was disappointed with RUSH for couple of reasons. RUSH has been postponding their interview day, and offered me a position previously but took it back by saying that there is no one who can orient me (well.. I do understand if they are short of staffs, but they should know better about their staffing status before offereing a job...)

Anyway, I'll have my decision by next week.

Thanks for your advice Jolie. I heard from the HR person of both hospital that ENH will buy(?) rush north shore, and the whole ENH will no longer affiliated with northwestern but with UofC. Aren't they going to be udner the same name down the road?

Please correct me if I am misunderstanding by the term "parent companies".

HEy no problem, but yea that is a little goofy retracting their offer because of lack of Orientation staff? but see what they say in days to come.

Also to comment on ENH buying RNS, that is possible they will become an affiliate and put the ENH logo on everything but the hospital is still staffed by Rush and Rush management. ENH already takes part in the Glenbrook facility but the best ENH facility is Evanston Hospital, awesome people.
