Resurrection University Fall 2012 Applicants

Hi all,

I am new here and have found the forum to be very informational. I decided to start a thread for Resurrection's fall 2012 applicants. I think it would be good to keep in touch throughout the process, so if you have any questions or comments feel free to express them here. I already submitted my application, transcripts and essay, all I need is to take the TEA's test. I'm taking it in February and am really nervous because I haven't even started studying. Has anyone taken it yet? How was it?

I am also applying to 2 other programs:

Loyola's ABSN program

Truman's Associates in Nursing program

I am debating on applying to UIC's GEP program, DePaul's MENP program and Rush's GEM program.

Yea I talked to Shirley after calling emailing and leaving numerous voicemails she finally answered when I called!! She was reluctant to give me an answer saying she hasn't gotten to my last name yet and she told me that a month ago and said it would be a week and now it's august... She told me there is 20 ppl in front of my application and I should receive something this week... I'm getting frustrated because I don't know if I was approved for enough financial aid and I need my books still... But what aggravates me more is how many times financial aid has been on vacation this summer and not doing the award letters >

I am holding out one more day (today) and then I'm going to start the time-consuming process tomorrow of calling her every 20 minutes until she answers I guess. I know one thing, I can't pay the tuition in full out of pocket, which is what is "due" in my account right now. Avoidable stress is so irritating.

Praytotheunicorn let us know what she says because I don't think anyone can pay that tuition in full and I know I can't pay even a quarter of it its ridiculous how financial aid isnt completed when school starts in a few weeks

Did anyone here apply for the loan forgiveness program? Has anyone heard back yet? I am anxiously awaiting to hear something!!!

Just went on the student portal randomly and there was a financial aid document to download. it was an agreement to let your loans/funds be applied to your tuition. You have to print it out, sign it and mail it in. Might want to check and see if you have one on your portal as well. Still no word...

Hi everyone. Looks like I'll be leaving this thread and joining a new one. I was accepted to Rush's GEM program for spring 2013!!! Although that means quitting my job (I was in the E/W program at resurrection) and taking out even more student loans, Rush is a master's program and in the long run gets me closer and take me less time to what I really want to do and that is become an advanced nurse practitioner in midwifery (which requires a masters and a post-master's certification).

Congrats for getting into the rush program Anita :)!!!!! I haven't recieved anything yet regarding financial aid and all I have gotten from the school is an email stating my tuition is due in full by the 20th!!! I hope they hurry up and I have enough for textbooks otherwise idk what I am going to do ;(

I also have yet to receive anything regarding finacial aid. I emaile the finacial aid lady (forgot her name) and she said since I completed my FAFSA in June (early June), she hasnt gotten to those reviewing those files yet....I wish she would hurry up.

Now a question. Ladies I am trying to buy the Nursing Package required. How exactly do we do that? I already ordered my books, but didnt see anything about the Nursing Package.

I see some of you were discussing the uniforms. I had my Orientation on July 18th, we were told that the E/W (of which Im part of) did not have to have a uniform until Jan. 2013, when we start our clinicals. For those in the E/W program, where you told the same thing?
