questions about Illinois RN license requirements 2016

U.S.A. Illinois

I am living in IL and have a current IL license. I saw that I need 20 hours CE for renewal, but it didn't say anything about pain management like Michigan required specifically. So Illinois BON doesn't require pain management course? Thank you.

No, there are no specifics as to the program needed... ie, In Texas, there are mandatory recertification topics that must be completed before recertification. But, Illinois does not have those specifics, but rather, 20 hours. Since you live in Illinois, you should be getting the pamphlet via snail mail, which you can review and send in monies, which will count towards this endeavor.

Thanks, IVRUS, I dont think I get any snail mails yet. My licenase won't expire until May, 2016, so the mail may come later? I am in Aurora University's RN to BSN program..So those courses I took at Aurora can be counted as the 20 hours CE?

If those 20 hours were part of the program for you to become a RN, then no, they wouldn't count towards fulfilling the requirement as the intent is continuing education needed for all medical professionals. You aren't one yet, if you haven't received your degree.
