i am a new grad who recently just passed the nclex. i want to get a masters later on after some hospital experience. i know rush, uic, uofc, loyola, or other university hosptials will pay 100% tuiton reimbursements. i want to work at northwest memorial because i do not like TRAFFIC!! i live in skokie area. do you guys know how other non-university/ community hosptial's tuition programs work?!?!? like is it only partial assistance??? thanks in advance.

ohhh and other question? how long does it take for them to get back with you after you apply online?? i dont like this waiting game..

I applied to rush, uoc, loyola, and northwestern. I was contacted by all those hospitals within a week except rush who I never heard from. I'm not a new grad so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I never did interview at Northwestern. I thought the recruiter was extremely crabby and I spoke with her on the phone more than once. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. From what I've seen the other hospitals are only partial tuition assistance.

It's possible at this point they've already hired all their new grads and won't be hiring their next wave of new grads until this summer.

Non university hospitals will usually allot a set amount of money per fiscal year, such as anywhere between 2-4k seems to be the norm. Amounts will be less if you are part time. You have to work for them for usually 6 months before you can apply for assistance for a class you are about to take. You have to have your manager approve it too. Provide the bill and either before or after the class is over the hospital will send you a check in the amount to cover the tuition (not books). You also have to show your grades to prove you finished the course with a passing grade.

There are a few hospitals that will do percentage based reimbursement.
