I haven't heard yet if I am in the program yet. They are reviewing more applications on Monday. Congrats on getting in. What was your NLN score?

I was in Nursing school on NY, I think it is very intense but you have to keep on it. If you have the time and you study you should be ok. I was working full time and going to school full time. My husband and I moved to Chicago last summer so I am finishing at Harper. If you need anything I am on facebook too under Stefanie Cumberledge

hey lilbutterfly1... i was wondering if they're still accepting apps/filled all seats yet. im an out of district student and plan on applying for the spring 2010 start. i know that i am out of district, but im just going to at least try and see what happens. since they extended the fall app date, im wondering if they'll possibly do the same thing for the spring start.. meaning a potential seat for me? =) what do you think? oh and im applying to various programs

Hello loyolagirl... They had three seperate deadlines for fall 2009 I think the 3rd and last deadline was June 1st. I am not sure if they will be doing the same thing for Spring 2010 I heard that the only reason why they had three seperate deadlines for fall 2009 was because they changed the entire nursing curriculum and pre-requisites...Good luck to you and if you have anymore questions please let me know

Hello Scumberledge...Did you apply for this fall? I didnt do that well on the NLN I got a 90 but I think what helped me were the pre-requisites they gave me 12 extra points for completing Anatomy and Physiology. Did you take the NLN? Good luck to you and if you have any more questions let me kno.....

Yes I applied for this fall. I also got a 90% on NLN with a couple points for classes. I was thinking of taking it again but during the information meeting they said that they don't really go by that score anymore. Phew! When were you accepted? I had to submit my application late because I moved here from NY and I needed one more class. I know they are having a meeting today to decide who gets in for the June 1st deadline.

Hey scumberledge..Do you have all your pre-reqs done? I really hope you get in! Keep me posted....Oh yeah I received my acceptance letter around April because I had everything done by the 1st deadline.

What do you mean they don't look at that score??? They mainly look at the NLN score....don't they? Where did you hear that?

Dr Leski said it during the nursing information meeting a couple weeks ago. Did you go to one of the meetings yet?

Yea, I went to one of the meetings but no one said anything about that, unless I just missed it :uhoh3: Did she say what they did look at mostly when selecting students? Thanks!

She wasn't really making to much sense. She said that they will look at the score but they wont be giving extra points for A's or B's for the pre-req's. Also that the NLN will not be the only criteria they will be looking at. She also said that they will be looking at how many times you had to take Bio, she hinted that if you took Bio more then 2 times then maybe this course isn't for you. (Even if you got an excellent NLN score) She said she will be looking at the 'whole package' and not just the NLN. She made it seem like if you did Very good on the NLN they still may deny you for other reasons. They seem very disorganized to me. I understand this is the first semester of really doing it this way but they expect us to have our stuff together. It's only right that they do too.

Hint: There is no Level C CPR Certificate like it says in the information meeting packet. I emailed Dr. Leski and she reiterated that we will be needing a BLS for HCP from AHA.

They are still giving extra points for Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology last I heard at the May info meeting.... I am hoping to get in for Fall 2010. I'm scheduled to take the NLN next month. I did hear that they are basing decisions on previous grades and the NLN not one or the other. Any tips for the NLN would be greatly appreciated!
