Anyone attending Ambria College for the RN program?

U.S.A. Illinois

As the title states I'm wondering if anyone on allnurses is attending ambria college of nursing in Hoffman estates as a LPN to RN student currently that can help answer a few questions for me. I'm looking to start in September and was wondering how the students currently enrolled in the program like it? Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I was wondering did anyone ever graduate from the RN program a friend and I are looking to attend the school in January and I wasted to know did it get any better because a lot of these post are 3 and 4 years old please let me know before we make a huge mistake.

Yes. I agree to all of the comments above. I was looking for a bridge program and i was thinking to go to this school and i am very glad i didn't. My friend who used to come to this school saved me. I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend this school. I had a friend who was going to this school last year and he stated it was the worst decision he ever made. Here's why; first, the LPN-RN bridge program takes about 2 years to complete if you're in a standard track, if you are thinking of getting your BSN in the future, i highly suggest to do that instead. That's what i did, and my program will only take 2 1/2 years to complete. Second, if u see their ADN straight program, it is the same program that these LPN bridge RN program are doing which will take about 2 years. The other ridiculous thing that they don't tell you about is that each class they have an ATI exam which only accounts to 5% of ur over all grade. Here's the thing if you didn't pass this test thou' regardless you passed the entire class, unfortunately YOU HAVE TO REPEAT THE WHOLE CLASS or SIT DOWN and waste your time for 1 semester because they want you to do a "remediation". Ridiculous!!! Most college, these ATI exams are only an addition to their grades not a mandatory test that YOU HAVE TO PASS EACH CLASS!! YES EACH CLASS!! Another thing is Their tuition fee are about the same or more compare to other private schools and Universities so YOU'RE NOT ACTUALLY SAVING MONEY COMING HERE like what the owner claimed. Although, my friend told me that they have really good teachers which is such a waste or such a shame for this school. ALSO, EVEN SOME OF THE LPNs GRADUATED FROM THESE SCHOOL HAVE TO REPEAT THE SAME CLASS LIKE PHARMACOLOGY EVEN THOU IT IS THE SAME CLASS THEY TOOK DURING THEYRE LPN PROGRAM! Exactly! THEY WANT MORE MONEY FROM U SO UNFORTUNATELY YOU HAVE TO REPEAT THESE CLASSES! My friend told me which i found super ridiculous was when you get to PSYC and MEDSURG the teachers are ridiculous not to mention they are not teaching the material properly and USING DIFFERENT BOOK FOR THE TEST. YES! DIFFERENT BOOK FROM WHAT THEY SUPPOSED TO USE IN CLASS. In addition to that, these teachers will bombarded you with NCLEX type of questions which for some students are hard to answer especially if they don't understand the material. So if these stuff don't convince you NOT TO GO TO THIS SCHOOL i dont know what could. don't say i didn't warn you. SO yes! Save ur money and dont waste your time coming to this school besides there are tons of community colleges in IL and they are way cheaper so i suggest you look into those first. Thank you! I hope this helps alot!! and best of luck!
