by hhneophyte May 1, '12Hi everyone!I have been a nurse for 13 years in an acute care setting and is getting bored with what I do.So I would like to go to home health nursing because it seems like I would have more flexibility.I have been trying to apply but has not have any luck .Does anyone know any agency that is hiring in sacramento,Ca? Also is there such a thing as a standard list of items for a home health nurse bag?I know it sounds stupid but I will ask anyways. Thanks for any input!

- May 2, '12 by jmn126please to do not think HH has alot of flexibility, as it does not, those days are gone, while there is some freedom, the acuity level of the patient and the documentation allot this job now to be a 10hr (minimum) a day job.
- May 2, '12 by intermediateRNIt depends on where you work. I work for the health dept. in home health and it is VERY flexible, I work 8 hr. days, 1 wknd q 2 mo. and 1-2 holidays a yr. I really like my job, it is perfect if you have kids and want to be home every night for dinner, homework, etc. Keep looking, it could be just what you are looking for! Good luck
- May 4, '12 by AnnemRNQuote from hhneophyteI live in the Sacramento area and I have to agree that over the years the demands of home health nursing have increased and it is very difficult to complete your day in 8 hours. The patient acuity is higher and the driving radius has increased which adds more time to your day. I've been in home health since the early 90's and must say it has changed tremendously.Hi everyone!I have been a nurse for 13 years in an acute care setting and is getting bored with what I do.So I would like to go to home health nursing because it seems like I would have more flexibility.I have been trying to apply but has not have any luck .Does anyone know any agency that is hiring in sacramento,Ca? You might try calling the HR dept of local hospitals and agencies to see if there are any openings or go online.hhneophyte likes this. - May 4, '12 by hhneophyteThanks!
