I am working for a brand new agency who are not medicare certified yet and currently are focusing on private pay patients. We do not have any SN pts, just HHA and homemaker. My question is, is the non-oasis soc required on admission? Or is there a short and sweet soc that can be substituted for nonskilled pts? Any links would be great! Thank you so much!!

I only know that at our Agency when we have VA patients, they don't get SOC, they just start with Nursing Intervention visits.
Also- this link:
http://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Quality-Initiatives-Patient-Assessment-Instruments/OASIS/downloads/OASISConsiderationsforPPS.pdf
states:
"OASIS data elements are not required for Private Pay individuals effective December 2003."
Hopefully someone else has something more informative.
Thank you for your response!
