Hospital-based HH company vs. national HH company

Are there any advantages and/or disadvantages of working for a hospital's own HH company versus working for a large national HH company not affiliated with a hospital?

I shadowed a home health nurse this past week who works for one of the big national HH companies (and loved it), but I'm wondering if I should also shadow a home health nurse who works for my city's large hospital system.

Any big differences between the two that you can share with me? Thanks!

I have worked for both a small private home health agency and a large hospital based agency. I have friends who have worked at the national "chain". I prefer the hospital based agency as your compensation is comparable with hospital work and it is very easy to transfer within depts. should you desire to switch positions and desire longevity with your employer.

Hmm. I didn't think of it that way regarding working for a hospital-based agency. You stated that compensation is comparable with hospital work. Does you mean pay is higher or that how nurses are paid is comparable (paid by the hours worked)...or both?
