4th Attempt - Please Help

Nursing Students HESI

Published

My wife's confidence in herself is shot. She graduated her classes at 's accelerated program with straight As. She studied for 4 hours a day for a week and went in for the first exam. She received a 940 and the systems had gone down a few times so they gave question back bringing her up to a 947. She then studied for 8 hours a day the first week and 2 hours a day (we thought she over studied the first time) the second week. We purchased Drexel's practice test and she attended remediation. She scored a 944 her 2nd attempt. Her confidence began to weign as she discovered that some of the practice rationales were incorrect.

She cut back to 6 hours of studying a day for two weeks and at this point can answer all of her practice exam questions that pop up with a 90% correct average. She went and received another 944. Drexel requires their students to receive a 950 to pass. We're at a loss. What can I do to help? What can we buy? She does what her professors tell her to do and focuses on the questions. She focuses on the BIG items and overall knowledge. The third attempt she just took was all specific interactions of medications (about 70% of the exam questions were related to pharm for some reason on this attempt). She does well in Pharm and knows an incredible array of interactions but the ones being questioned on were obscure and specific interractions that are non life threatening.

Can anyone please provide us/me advice? I want to support my wife and right now she's balling her eyes out, mentally destroyed and doesn't know how to get the 950. She believes herself to be a failure and at a loss as to how she'll ever be a nurse.

Thank you truly for any advice.
