online programs for lpn to rn feedback

U.S.A. Hawaii

Published

Im from Hawaii, im an lpn/lvn. I'd like to take a course online for LPN to RN but im not sure who to trust and if hawaii will accept an online college. Has anyone done the online course and did it work out for you, was it legit, did hawaii approve it?

I cant find any work here anyways (kauai) so i figure I might as well be productive and go for my RN.

I cant seem to find the answers Im looking for so I figured I'd:bugeyes: check here. Help, i just dont know where else to look.

PS I called state of hawaii but they acted as if they didnt even know what i was talking about.

Thanks

I have a friend who was an lpn and went to the university of phoenix for there lpn to rn pathway and he graduated and is now a rn at tripler.

he said it was expensive and also mostly online based.

Dear tobeyorr lpn:

Have you thought about applying to an LPN program, and starting from scratch? Starting at the first semester? I know it's more time and $$, but at least you can get started with something. After 1 year, it's guaranteed that YOU WILL start RN classes.

I've been told that University of Hawai'i and all the community colleges are changing their cirriculum, starting in Fall 2010. All of them will be teaching the same material in the same classes, all at the same time. (I'm not saying I'm 100% correct, it's just what I've heard.)

Instead of trying to jump in, in the middle of the program, it might be far easier to start at the beginning with everyone else. Hope that helps! (If it does, please click "kudos.")
