Any Chaminade Of Honolulu Nursing Students here

U.S.A. Hawaii

I am part of the second cohort of Nursing students who got in Fall 2011. Anybody else from the first or second cohort chaminade nursing students roaming the board? BTW, how are your experiences thus far. Likes? Dislikes? So far my experience has been awesome. Aloha!

Hey CUHNurse2015.. I'm actually in process of completing my application, essay, Letter of Rec, and transcripts sent over to Chaminade... Any tips on getting in? Other than the obvious requirements.. how did you do it? See, I got accepted to UH Manoa as a pre-nursing major for spring 2012, but I had to defer my application since I'm currently pregnant and my due date is 9 days before UHM Springs semester starts.. really a bummer. Anyway, I heard about Chaminade and looked in to the program requirements and such.. and now I'm all about wanting to go there. The program is pretty much straightforward, and you are guaranteed a spot for the whole four years... way to not waste time, right? Anyway, I'm pretty nervous about putting my application.. seeing that there are so many people that are probably way more competitive! I guess it's all in God's timing for me. Anyway, you are extremely blessed and lucky to have gotten in for Fall 2011. I hope This time next year I'll be in the program as well.

Just make sure that all your transcripts are sent, call the admissions office to make sure it went through. I believe you need three letters of recommendations, and most importantly an essay on why you want to be a nurse and why the nursing program should choose you. You need to get your application in before Feb. 1 to be considered. You must apply to Chaminade first, once you get accepted into Chaminade, you will need to submit another application to Chaminade and declare your major as Nursing. If you have anymore questions feel free to contact Dr.Genz, the Dean of Nursing. You can find her number on the Chaminade website. Good luck!!

Really? Wow... I must have called the admissions office a lot of times as well as Ashley, the program assistant... and they told me to submit an Application to Chaminade, have all transcripts sent, a minimum of 2 letters of Recs, the essay.. and once everything has been received, they'll forward it to the nursing department. Ugh..

i guess it's just frustrating, but thank you so much for telling me..

FYI being accepted into UHM as prenursing doesn't mean anything. everyone that wants to go into nursing is automatically categorized as "pre-nursing". there aren't any requirements. the hard part is applying to get into the actual nursing program. that part is very cometitive.
