Question regarding schooling for the Navy Nursing Candidate program

Hi all! I just started nursing school last week. I am completing an ADN program and hopefully be an RN in spring 2011.

I also have a bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology.

I was reading on the website that you have to have a bachelors of Science, whereas I have read on here BSN. Is this the same thing? And would I be a good candidate having a bachelors and an associates of nursing?

My brother is a marine, and I respect everything that all of you do!

Nope, a ADN + BS in another field does not equal a BSN. And for the Navy (Reserve or Active) you need a BSN. This may be too late to suggest, but did you look at an accelerated BSN program (since you already have a BS)? Many schools offer an accelerated bridge from BS to BSN..........

I did look at the accelerated BSN, but I have to work, so the ADN was the next best choice, and many students in the programs here that i've talked to, actually stepped down out of the 1 year b/c they didn't feel like they were getting what they needed, as it is all crammed in to 8 weeks. They felt like they were cramming just for the test and not learning anything. But there are programs like you said to bridge over and get a bsn.
