Looking for info on USAF nursing school programs

I have heard rumors that the USAF will pay for both your nursing school and pay you active duty base pay while you attend. Does anyone here know anything about that? Who would I contact to inquire about that program?

Here's my story: I'm a former USAF Captain (already an officer), separated in 2004 but looking to get back on active duty. I have always been interested in nursing as well, though while I was in the AF I was a missileer.

Anyone know anything about this program?

Thanks a lot,

I am really not sure. Try the chat link and you can ask one of the AF recruiters online. http://airforce.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/airforce.cfg/php/enduser/acct_login.php?p_sid=QpGAPr5j&p_accessibility=&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=&p_li=&p_next_page=chat.php

Darel,

I was in a similar situation...separated captain in space and missile acquisitions. I tried to find programs sponsored by the AF, and the only options I could find were for enlisted members. I decided to do a 1 year acc bsn after separating from active duty. Now, I'm back on active duty at Lackland, but I have to do 6mts as a 1lt before pinning on capt again. Hope that helps..I spent 2 years researching different routes and getting the fast-track bsn turned out to be the easiest for me. chris
