Health Care Bachelors degree and an ADN?

Hi, I go to this weird private/vocational college. I'm getting an Associates of Applied Science degree in "Medical Specialties." (Medical Assistant/CNA/EMT type of stuff). If I stick around for another year I can end up with a Bachelor's in Health Care administration. Then I could join a branch of the military (probably AF) as an officer and live happily ever after.

My question... If I join as a Health Care Admin grad and go and get my ADN while I'm on Active Duty can I switch to work as a Nurse at some point? Or will I only be able to switch to be a nurse if I have a BSN? I mean, I'll already have one bachelors degree.

I'm trying to find the quickest way that I can join as an officer and still end up as a nurse some day. =) Thanks!

I looked on the AF website under healthcare administration and it says they will take a Bachelor's degree although most of the MSC officers I know have their Masters.

All AD uniformed service/military nursing positions require a BSN or MSN.

It might be kinda of hard going to school and getting your nursing degree on AD d/t the clinicals.

True. Does anyone know what type of sign on bonuses they have for HCA (probably lower than nursing as any given time?) Then I know if you are in your last two years of a BSN program you can get a monthly stipend etc from the Air Force or Navy. Do they offer anything like that for HCA?

If you plan on going into the Air Force,(as a nurse) you WILL need your BSN. No question. The Air Firce did accept ADNs a long,long tine ago, but now BSNs are it.
