Best Path to Follow?!?!?!?!?!?

I am a pre-nursing student just starting my pre-req's.

The Airforce has really gotten my attention with all they have to offer, and I was actually hoping to get peoples opinoins as to what would be the best path to go.

I am not sure if I should go to the local community college to become an RN. Then complete my BSN at the local Univirsity. Then inlist in the Airforce. If I were to do that where would I rank as I enter the Airforce?

What paths have all of you followed? What was the pro's and con's of your path?

I am hoping to recieve advice and maybe some insight of how I can maybe reach my goal.

Whatever anyone can tell me would be greatly appreiated.

Thank You!!

First thing to know is the Air Force only commissions nurses with their BSN or graduate nursing degrees. Saying that if you get your ADN and work while obtaining your BSN the Air Force will give you constructive credit towards rank......for most people it is a 2 for 1 credit.....so if you took 3 more years to get your BSN the USAF would give you 1.5 years credit toward your 1st rank. Unless you have atleast 4yrs RN experience or a graduate degree in nursing then you would enter the USAF as a 2Lt. I usually always recommend pre-nursing students seriously consider getting their BSN vs. ADN. Both nursing portions will normally take two years since both courses will make you finish your pre-reqs before starting. For most people it is going to take atleast 3-4 yrs to obtain your ADN and it will take most people about 4yrs to obtain their BSN.
