Hello i am a military spouse moving from alaska orginally from wash,DC, and i will be moving to Augusta at the end of april. I have 3 yrs experience as a RN. ive worked med/surg for 1 year and half, then i went into OB since Jan 09, i love it. I was crossed trained with my old job so I have some L&D and Nursery experience but majority of my expertise is Mother Baby couplet care. Im looking for hospitals/clinics in the area to apply. Can you help me with my search for any OB jobs. I prefer mother/baby but will do L&D with more training, i only have about 3 deliveries under my belt. Thx sooo much:):):):)

There are a few hospitals in Augusta, Medical College of Georgia, University Hospital and Doctor's Hospital. I would say try MCG since it is a teaching hospital and you would probably learn a lot. Good Luck in your search :-)

Hi guys! I am also a military spouse who is moving to Augusta-my problem, however, is multi-faceted: I am licensed in Hawaii, lost my RN job after 3 months due to the economy, have been unemployed for the past 4 months (the market here is next to impossible right now), and I went to a non-traditional program. I have read that licensure in Ga is tough on new-grads, especially if you went to a non-trad program. Anyone know about licensing, finding that first job or even preceptorship in Augusta area? HELP!!!!!
