Nursing Programs North of Atlanta

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello,

I am moving to the Marietta area at the end of the month and i would like some help deciding on a nursing school. So far Ive figured that I can pick between Chattahoochee Tech, Georgia Highlands and Kennesaw State. Are there any others? It seems that all three have similar pre reqs and admission guidelines. Which one would I have the best/easiest chance of getting into? What about Georgia State University? Would that commute be unrealistic?

Thanks in advance!!!

Forgot to mention I have an associates degree in Computer Science with a 3.7 GPA. It does not satisfy many of the pre reqs, only really English and Algebra. Just thought I should throw that in there :)

Unfortunately, I live on the other side (NE side) of Atlanta, so I can't really answer your questions about those schools or the commute. But since I already had this link saved, I thought I'd share it with you: http://sos.georgia.gov/plb/rn/RN%20School%20Directory.pdf . That's the Georgia list of approved nursing programs at the BON website. If you're still trying to figure out if there are other programs nearby, that list is a good place to start.

I will say as far as commute times: depending on where you are and where you're going, you may need to factor in plenty of extra time. Atlanta traffic can be horrendous. On a good day, I can get from my house to Marietta in about 45 minutes, but I've been in situations where the drive has taken me more than 2 hours.
