Kennesaw State Fall 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Just wondering if anyone out there is planning to apply to Kennesaw State for the Fall of 2013. I know the deadline is 3 months away, but I wanted to get a thread started for anyone interested in discussing the process as we go along!

I've gotten into GPC for the fall- just waiting to hear something from KSU. I'm on the fence as to which program Im going to do. GPC is so much cheaper.

I wouldn't put too much weight on any individual negative you think you have on your record.

Fran told me they took a girl with a 79 teas and a high GPA. And that they took a girl with a 3.0 and high teas. You'd be surprised how many lower teas scores I've heard of. And honestly, that's not a bad score!

Has anyone else applied to Georgia State?

I applied to Georgia State. This is the second time I applied, I applied for the spring but was waitlisted.

Accelerated or traditional?

Both! You?

Just the accelerated program. I'll be a second degree student, so it seemed it would fit my schedule and everything a lot better.

Jenbrewington, if you don't mind me asking, did you have any previous work experience in healthcare or anything when you applied last time?

I had some experience volunteering for Hospice.

I've been curious if they really take that into consideration, or mainly focus on grades/TEAS scores.

It is primarily GPA and Teas, but you do get points for each volunteer form you turn in from what I understand.

@jenbrewington : how would we turn in a form for volunteering??

You would have included the completed form with your nursing application packet. It was provided via a link on the web page that told us how to apply and what to include. It had to be filled out by someone with the organization that could verify your volunteer time.
