Just graduated with an ADN and is moving to Hinesville

U.S.A. Georgia

Hey everyone!

I was just wondering, how's the job market in Georgia? I just graduated with my ADN in Hawaii and I plan to move to Georgia because my husband is station in the Army Base there. I was looking at hospitals in Savannah like St. Joseph/Candler Hospital. Does anyone know if they hire ADNs? If not, are there any hospitals in Savannah that will hire new grad ADNs? Please help!!! I'm planning to move at the end to November!

Thanks!

If you're moving to Hinesville and not actually to Savannah, you might consider applying at Liberty Regional -- it's located in Hinesville, just a couple off minutes from post. The website is www.libertyregional.org. I am pretty sure they hire new grads -- I work with some nurses at the Army hospital (when I'm not in Afghanistan, haha) that started as new nurses at Liberty. Unfortunately the Army hospital requires a year of experience, or I'd suggest that as well.

The big hospitals in Savannah are St. Joe's/Candler (as you mentioned) as well as Memorial University Medical Center. I don't know if they hire new grads, but if you don't ask, the answer will always be no. ;) Good luck!!

Memorial hires ADN's. They have a residency program for new grads. I know the one for the summer already started in july. The winter residency program should be taking applications soon. Call 912-350-8000 and ask to speak to someone in the education building and they can let you know more. I think you need to ask for T.J Haymens

Thanks everyone for your reply. I really appreciate it!
