I'm new to Georgia

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hey,

I just moved to Georgia from Ohio, I want to know where are the best places to look for jobs. I am an LPN.

To help you out better, what area are you in?

I'm in Macon, Ga. I am willing to travel to Warner Robins and Atlanta. Atlanta, if the $ is right.

That is where I worked when living there. The Medical Center does hire LPN's. However, you may want to call their Human Resources. Recently they have laid off management and cut back on the use of agency nurses. Oconee Regional Hospital in Milledgeville also hires LPN's. It's a small community hospital, but they do have med/surg, mother/baby, SNF, and an ER in which LPN's were able to work. At least they did when I did clinicals there. You may also want to think about 'agency' work if immediate benefits aren't a factor. I do know that MSN contracts with Coliseum Hospital and ATC contracts with Oconee.

There is also Central State Hospital in Milledgeville that uses lots of LPN's if you don't mind psych or prison nursing.

Thanks alot.

You have moved from Macon?

I now live in NC due to my husband transferring. I don't know how much experience you have and any 'stereotypes' you've had to deal with, but the Medical Center floor I worked on, I was considered a 'nurse' just like all there. Only thing we couldn't do was manage cardiac drips and initiate a care plan. Oconee is also very LPN friendly. Good luck. Post on this thread if you find a job. Hope this info helps you out.
